GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS
Journal of Neurointervention and Stroke (JNeVis) accepts manuscripts with original ideas that have not been previously published or presented in any form and anywhere, are not under review, or are being considered for publication by other parties. This journal publishes twice a year (in May and November). JNeVis only accepts submissions in English (the use of grammar-checker applications is mandatory for non-native authors), focusing on original/research articles and case reports related to vascular and intervention neurology. The manuscript should follow the structure provided in the Document Template, which you can download by clicking the “Document Template” button on our website. In addition, you also need to complete some supplementary documents that must be sent via the journal email (editor@jnevis.org) along with the manuscript submission (note: manuscript submissions are only sent via OJS/website). These supplementary documents include the authorship form, an ethical clearance form for original research, and a patient consent for publication form for case studies or case reports. Any submitted manuscript that has been sent to peer reviewers cannot be withdrawn by the author(s).
General principles:
The manuscript must be free of typing errors and have proportional length, written in A4 size of paper with 1 space. The script should be typed using Microsoft Word software, with Arial font, bold, 16 pt size for the title; Times New Roman, 12 pt size for other than title, with margins page layout adjusted by the journal template: top 1.76 cm, bottom 2.1 cm, left and right 1.69 cm). The recommended references are the updated ones in the last 10 years from the date of current submission (with minimum 20 references).
Every manuscript in JNeVis must be free from plagiarism. The plagiarism screening will be done twice using the TURNITIN plagiarism checker: once when the article is first submitted and again after the reviewer has accepted the manuscript. Similarity based on screening should not be more than 20%. If it exceeds this limit, the manuscript will be returned to the author (for correction) before moving to the next stage.
Original research: 5000 words
Case report/case series: 1000 words
All types of manuscripts must consist of:
- Title, should be concise, specific, and informative. The title should be written on the top line using Arial font, 16 pt size, capitaizing the first letter of each word, bold, left-aligned, italicizing (Italic) the Latin name. The title recommended not to use sentences like “a study to...a comparison of...characteristic of...description of...the relationship between...analysis of...the correlation between.” It can be replaced by another sentence or directly mention the variable.
- Running title, the author(s) should create a running title, a brief title that is derived from the main title of the manuscript, and write it in the manuscript header with a maximum of 50 characters. Its purpose is to provide a concise summary of the article/title, a quick understanding of the whole content, and grab readers’ attention.
- The author’s name(s), complete name (without title), and the affiliations of the authors are written with an initial capital letter for each word in Times New Roman font, 11 pt size, left-aligned, without ending points. If there are multiple authors, all are written, separated by commas. Add a code that appears as a superscripted number behind the author’s name (1, 2, 3,etc.). The author’s affiliation (the institution, not the author’s job), including the city and the country, is written under the author’s name, starting with a code assigned by the respective author.
- ORCID ID, is a unique 16-digit identifier for researchers, scholars and authors. At least one of the authors is required to add their ORCID IDs listed on https://orcid.org/. The ORCID logo (
) should embed the link after the code of the authors’ name.
- Correspondence, is written under the authors’ affiliation, including the complete name (without title), telephone number, and email address of the main author or the author that is responsible as the corresponding author.
- Abstract, must be written in English and arranged with a brief description (containing maximum of 250 words).
- The abstract for original research: should consist of the introduction, objective, method, result, and conclusion
- The abstract for case studies or case reports: should consist of the introduction, case(s), and conclusion. - Keywords, consisting of 3-5 words and/or phrases (at least one of which is “Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”), should be written underneath the abstracts in English and in alphabetical order.
- Article highlights, the author(s) is highly encouraged to provide article highlights, which are key takeaways form the article presented. Article highlights will increase the discoverability of your article via search engines. Write your article highlights before the introduction, consisting of a maximum of 2 to 3 bullet points, each a maximum of 85 characters, including spaces.
- References, should contain at least 20 references or more for original research and 10 references or more for case report / case series, published within 10 years from the submission date, and arranged according to the Vancouver writing style, written with Times New Roman font, 9 pt size, with 1 space. References should be from highly reputable publishers and/or indexing websites, i.e., Scopus, Scimagojr, Web of Science, NCBI-Pubmed, Google Scholar, or others. To maintain consistency in references, citations, and bibliographies, it is mandatory to use standard reference applications, such as Mendeley® or others.
